For Shehab Abdelmageed, that spark began in childhood, surrounded by the sounds of engines and the allure of powerful machines. Today, he stands at the intersection of engineering excellence and innovation, leading change in one of Abu Dhabi’s key government entities.
A Childhood Dream Forged in Steel
Some dreams fade with time. Others become a calling. For Shehab, it was always the latter.
“Since I was a kid,” he shares, “I wanted to become the kind of engineer who fixes and builds cars and big machines. The sound of engines and the complexity of machinery fascinated me.”
This fascination turned into a lifelong ambition. That path led him to Ain Shams University, one of Cairo’s most respected institutions, where he earned his B.Sc. in Mechanical Power Engineering—a childhood dream brought to life.
From Frontlines to Leadership
After graduating in 2012, Shehab didn’t take the easy road. He began his journey on the front lines of engineering, immersing himself in real-world challenges. This hands-on experience became the foundation of his technical expertise and shaped his approach to leadership today.
Through patience, humility, and adaptability, he climbed the ranks. Now, he holds a significant leadership position as a Lead Engineer and BIM Manager in Abu Dhabi. “It’s a milestone I’m proud of,” Shehab reflects. “Managing this role allows me to contribute to advancing engineering practices in the UAE.”
A Mind Wired for Machines—and the Future
What inspired Shehab wasn’t just the machines themselves, but the endless possibilities they represent.
“Machineries, planes, marine equipment—but especially cars—captivated me. The way an engine sounds, the precision of moving parts—it’s like music,” he says.
But Shehab’s mind is not only wired for traditional mechanics. He’s now channeling his skills toward the future, working on integrating AI into engineering practices, a move he believes can transform public sector efficiency and national progress.
“I’m in the hustle of applying AI in my field,” he says. “I’m keen to utilize this tool to serve the community and the UAE in the most efficient ways.”

In a world where challenges are inevitable, Shehab doesn’t retreat—he rises. “My passion and dedication make me unique,” he says. “When I face a challenge, I don’t stop. I tackle it head-on and find a solution.”
